HYPNOSIS.....
How we Heal in the Future!

The Conscious and Subconscious Mind

One way of explaining this is the Iceberg Analogy. That is to say, the tip of the iceberg, the part that we see, is not what sinks the ship; it is the 90% that is under water, that we cannot see, that does this. The 10% is our conscious mind, while the greater 90% is our sub-conscious (or somtimes referred to as the unconscious) mind.
Conscious Mind:

This is the most limited part of our brain function, it is the part of the mind that allows one to be aware of things: things in one's immediate awareness are in one's conscious mind. The conscious mind has the ability to analyze things, to make judgments based on security and survival needs. It is the part of the mind that limits us and keeps us connected to everyday personality and ego desires.

Subconscious Mind:

This part of our mind is a storehouse for all of the experiences we have had throughout our lives: one's experience, learning, manner for interacting with one's world, and one's automatic functions. The subconscious mind is not as rigid or as analytical as the conscious mind. More importantly, it is not as limited as the conscious mind. This is the part of the mind that hypnosis works on primarily.

The subconscious responds to experiential communications, is capable of symbolic interpretation, and tends to have a global view. There is agreement among most psychologists and cognitive scientists that much mental functioning takes place in a part of the mind inaccessible to consciousness without some form of bridging technique like hypnosis.

A few facts about the subconscious mind:

  • The subconscious mind must be communicated with much like a five year old.
  • The subconscious mind does not understand negatives. Example, it doesn't  understand, don't, won't, can't, etc. I don't want to be sick would be translated I want to be sick. The conscious mind complies with the information received from the subconscious. This is the importance of positive mental imaging and communication.
  • The fear is the wish. Once the subconscious is programmed with an event that causes conscious fear, it  creates the event so we evolve beyond the fear. This is truly a spiritual process.
  • The subconscious mind does not understand humor or sarcasm.

Healing & Hypnotherapy:

The body and mind cannot be separated. For every physical problem there is an emotional component. For every emotional upset there is a physical manifestation. The resolution or removal of burdensome energies or experiences is the goal of any healing approach. As a result, a person can live more fully in the present and in unison/harmony with themselves and all life.

Conscious awareness of our behaviors is good but even more important is that old emotional patterns still exist even after we understand the whys of particular issues. To become wholly responsible for our patterns and experience we must take charge of each issue we face with all the spiritual, metaphysical and self-therapy tools at our disposal. We must also understand there are basic laws and principles that govern all life.

  • We are not living just one life we are the total sum of all experiences from all lives.
  • The law of attraction works at all levels of existence past, present, future and multiple dimensions simultaneously.
  • When there appears to be a dysfunction what we experience in the world around us and what we experience mentally/emotionally within us is often a reflection of painful experiences and the beliefs that have not been fully processed or brought to conclusion.
  • True healing in the present moment involves resolving the unfinished business of the past which continues to influence a person in the present moment. It is the residual mental, emotional, physical and spiritual energy of past events which contaminates the present experience.

Hypnotherapist

Hypnotherapists are trained to facilitate individuals to reach a relaxed state of mind, where positive suggestion and healing procedures can take effect. Following is the definition given by the U.S. Department of Labor:

Hypnosis uses the ability to focus our minds in a concentrated effort in order to maximize our potential. There is a general consensus that Hypnosis does allow one to gain complete self-control and that the effects of hypnosis do indeed exist. The most distinguishing characteristic of Hypnotherapists is the art of discovering a client's issues in their own words. When coupled with their particular spiritual faith, their own words become the language used to powerfully transform undesirable issues.

Hypnotherapy Strategy's:

Hypnosis is used by clinicians in three distinct ways. First, a Hypnotherapist will facilitate the process by encouraging a person to use their creative abilities in the art of imagination. Imagery, when being manifested in a focused state, can be extremely effective. The mind is able to enlist the use of imagery to assist a person to symbolically manifest the imagined conditions. For instance, if a person with cancer sees their cells as being diseased and ill, they may be instructed to imagine them through hypnosis as being transformed to healthy vibrant cells.

Another way that this method is used is to act as a vehicle of suggestion to a client. When someone is fully focused and exhibits a concentration of mental effort, ideas that reflect the desires of a client are more consequential to the mind. Additionally, hypnosis is often utilized in a manner that allows deep self-exploration and discovery of unconscious intentions, motivations, or events and experiences that result in symptoms undesirable to a person. Hypnosis circumvents our conscious thought processes, allowing us to gain a better insight into the problem at hand. By doing this, real change can occur.

In 1995 a study done by the US National Institute of Health (NIH) compiled an official statement which said in part:

Spiritual Hypnotherapy Strategy's:

One of the most popular strategies for spiritual enhancement and healing comes by regression, both in  current life and in past-life regression. Past Life Regression is by far the only method of connecting and healing patterns of actions that relate to other lives which some therapist's put at over 80% of current conflicts.

Spirit Releasement Therapy is another life enhancing strategy that has been studied for centuries and is much more prevalent than one might imagine. Hypnotherapy has proven to be the most effective means of healing the disorders of spirit attachments that everyone at some time in their life has been susceptible for a variety of reasons causing many types of personality conflicts.

On the positive side when working with a Spiritual enhancement strategy one can be guided to experience their own guides, Angels, other dimensions, and since our subconscious mind is connected to universal consciousness even relationships of this and other lives can be accessed for a multitude of reasons including the experiences in between lives. Viewing the Auric Field, being present in the DIVINE LIGHT, cleansing our energy bodies and chakra system is just a few of many spiritual enhancement strategies.

Hypnosis truly is a wonderful tool that will give us a way to connect to our own healer through the subconscious mind. Hypnosis and hypnotic type examination and study have been done for hundreds of years by practitioners of medicine, healing and hypnotism.

Given its relative conditional acceptance within the scientific community and modern medicine, Hypnosis can be considered to be the new frontier for understanding the human beings most powerful tool...our mind.

The evidence supporting the effectiveness of hypnosis in alleviating chronic pain associated with cancer seems strong. In addition, the panel was presented with other data suggesting the effectiveness of hypnosis in other chronic pain conditions, which include irritable bowel syndrome, pain and swelling of the mucus membrane, jaw pain, and tension headaches.
Hypnotherapist: Induces hypnotic state in client to increase motivation or alter behavior pattern through hypnosis. Consults with client to determine the nature of problem. Prepares client to enter hypnotic states by explaining how hypnosis works and what client will experience. Tests subject to determine degrees of physical and emotional suggestibility. Induces hypnotic state in client using individualized methods and techniques of hypnosis based on interpretation of test results and analysis of client's problem. May train client in self-hypnosis conditioning.
